CSM Awards 2022

Hey Skwad!

I was really lucky to get nominated for 'Best Section' and 'Best Project/Series' for the Cardiff Student Media Awards (#CSMAwards) 2022 on behalf of Cardiff Union Television for my work on an investigative journalism documentary I produced regarding poor student housing as the Head of the News department, which you can watch here:

Special thanks to Charlie Buckland, who originated this video idea and inspired me to take it further, to Eve Thomas and Rosie Gilbert for interview participation and giving me new avenues to explore, to Amy Cadman and Baz Van de Vegte for testimonies, alongside Rob Simkins and Robbie Pritchard at Shelter Cymru for statements and statistical research, to Dr Damian Carney for legal guidance, and to Adam Newbound, Nahum Bolt and Charlotte Carswell for technical support with filming and editing.

Whilst I didn't win, it was a really lovely evening all around and was great to meet everyone in Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd's other #studentmedia departments Gair Rhydd, Quench Magazine and Xpress Radio, especially as we didn't get to have one last year due to COVID19!

It's a delight knowing that both print and broadcast media can co-exist and that we're all here to keep the student populous informed at Cardiff University.
