Hey Skwad!
So, I just wanted to share the journey of cosplay so far and keep track of my progress, as you can see it’s been a long time coming 😅 and I’m going to keep improving as much as I can! ☺️ I’ve been seeing a lot of these self-comparison/improvement posts online, and as I've been doing a few costests (cosplay-tests) in the run-up to my very first comic-con, I thought I’d give it a try!
So on the left is me wayyy back in early February. In February I had on cheap makeup from China, tried to dye the ends of my hair (it's way too dark and so it didn’t show up anyway) and whatever heeled boots I had in my wardrobe 😅
Since February I’ve improved and accumulated a few more things: Harley's shoes, belt, gun holster, “YES SIR” bracelets, jacket (I know, I know! It isn’t in the middle photo) and I’ve improved the belt, t-shirt, “PUDDIN” choker, shoes, gun and makeup (although I've forgotten to take hay fever tablets, so I've been crying it off for the most part 😂!).
The middle photo is from May, I found loads of them on my computer (which you can kinda see from the weird dots in the background that gave it this CCTV-like feel). As you can see I was not the best at putting a wig on! 😅🤦🏻♀️ But hopefully, I’ve improved since then, as shown by the August photo!
Over the past couple of days, I’ve been slaving away improving my “Daddy’s lil monster” shirt that I got originally from @hottopic. Thanks a bunch to @jbunzie, who really helped with my research on how to get screen-accurate holes and what type of stitches to use! 😊 Although I did add the blue dye to the wrong sleeve (it should be on the left sleeve, not the right) 🤦🏻♀️!
Makeup-wise, it's really fun to be able to go a bit nuts and do my makeup like a 2-year-old who’s just raided her mum’s makeup bag 😂. Also, you don’t have to worry about it being symmetrical at all and if it starts running everywhere it’s “part of the look” 😉. Also, I managed to create this broken glass effect & I think it looks really cool!
Also, I'm so, so, so in love with this new jacket from @merchoid! I literally dropped everything to try it on! 😂 The quality is amazing and it's one of the few jackets I've seen where the colours aren't the wrong way around on the back that isn't being sold for a ridiculous amount!
I can’t wait to go @ozconuk on the 4-5 of August and @walescomiccon on the 1-2 of December! I Hope to you a lot of you there. ☺️
